Support
ClusteRSS is built by one person. Email gets read and answered.
Email ClusteRSS@icloud.com with anything at all — a bug, a feature idea, a feed that won't parse, or a question that isn't answered below.
If you're reporting a bug, mentioning your device and iOS/macOS version speeds things up a lot.
Common questions
How do I add a feed?
Tap + and paste either a feed URL or the address of the site itself — ClusteRSS will look for the feed automatically. You can also share a link into ClusteRSS from Safari using the share sheet.
Can I bring my subscriptions from another reader?
Yes. Export an OPML file from your current reader, then in ClusteRSS go to Settings → Import / Export and choose Import OPML. Folder structure comes across too. You can export your list back out the same way at any time.
How does the clustering actually work?
ClusteRSS compares new articles against recent ones and groups those that cover the same underlying story. By default the comparison runs on Apple's on-device language model, so nothing leaves your device. Clusters update as new coverage arrives, and the strongest headline is promoted to the top of the stack.
Clustering seems too aggressive or too loose. Can I change it?
Yes. Settings → Clustering lets you switch between grouping by story (tight — only genuinely the same event) and by topic (looser — related coverage of a subject), and adjust how eagerly articles are pulled together. Changing the mode re-clusters your existing articles.
Nothing is clustering on my device.
On-device clustering needs a device that supports Apple Intelligence, with it enabled in the system settings. If your device doesn't support it, you can point ClusteRSS at your own Ollama server instead under Settings → AI, or use the app as a straightforward feed reader without clustering.
What is the Ollama option for?
It's optional and off by default. If you run your own Ollama server, you can point ClusteRSS at it for richer summaries and clustering. Requests go from your device straight to your server — there's no service in between.
Does my reading sync between devices?
Yes, through your own iCloud account. Subscriptions, folders, read state, stars and Read Later all sync. Cosmetic preferences like theme and accent color stay per-device on purpose. If sync looks stalled, check that iCloud Drive is on and that both devices are signed into the same Apple Account, then open Settings → iCloud in ClusteRSS to see current sync status.
Do you collect any data about me?
No. There is no server, no analytics, no ads and no account. The privacy policy lays out every network request the app makes.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app to remove everything on that device. To clear the synced copy, remove ClusteRSS data from iCloud in your system settings.
Reporting a bug
Helpful things to include:
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- Device and OS version.
- The feed URL involved, if it's about a specific feed.
- A screenshot, if the problem is visible.
Send it to ClusteRSS@icloud.com.
Feature requests
Genuinely welcome. ClusteRSS is a personal project that got serious, and the roadmap is shaped mostly by what people ask for.
